The beneficial qualities of orange essential oil for the skin and more have the fruit’s peel to thank. In cold-press extraction, that peel does all the work. Sometimes it’s barely ripe peel, sometimes it’s unripe peel – so, just think of a not-quite-ripe orange you’ve tasted (haven’t we all?) and imagine the pure citrus power coming from that zest. Wow.
With that kind of oomph, TLEO Orange can work wonders in your skin care routine, most especially for your delicate facial skin. Just be sure you do a spot check for potential reaction and that you’re using your citrus essential oils for face care only at night, or when you know you’re not going to be in the sun for at least the following eight hours. Citrus oils may cause photosensitivity and, as a precaution, you shouldn’t head out into direct sunlight for about 8-12 hours after using them. Think of it as a just-before-bed luxury!
TLEO Orange can be blended with TLEO Fractionated Coconut Oil – 4 drops of FCO to 1 drop of TLEO Orange – on a cotton ball or reusable facecloth for effortless, chemical-free makeup removal, except around the eyes. Avoid the eyes.
Use the TLEO Orange and FCO cotton ball method if you’re battling a pesky pimple or blemish, too. Dab at the irritated skin and leave it. Or make your own nightly orange face wash with toning effects: In 1 cup of distilled water, mix 3 drops of TLEO Orange. Blend well. Cup hands and lift the face wash onto your skin, moving your hands in a circular motion as you go. Rinse thoroughly, and follow with moisturizer.
